Al Hanna's career to be honored at NHRA Hot Rod Reunion

On September 13, the prolific career of Al Hanna is to be recognized at the New England Dragway NHRA Hot Rod Reunion. The event will be one of reminiscing and memories as many New Englanders gather all the while wrapped around nostalgic perfomances from today's top alcohol and fuel drivers.

Al's career has spanned 50 years in the sport, starting in the north east and especially at Epping. He quickly moved into the fuel funny car category running nitro for 15 years. In 1983, he moved to the jet car category and would cement himself as one of the top jet car drivers/owners in drag racing. Al is one of only two drivers to have held licenses in Top Fuel, AA Funny Car, Jet funny car and Jet dragster. He still owns and operates the 3 car jet team along with his wife of 50 years, Ellen and son Rich while his elder son Scott remains a technical advisor to the team.

Al's career will be recognized along with fellow peers Jungle Pam Hardy, Gil Coraine, John Healey and George Weiler. Grand Marshal of the event is Bob Frey. For more on Al's illustrious career, visit the history page here at hannamotorsportsjets.com.
